Want to serve God in a deeper way? Join our youth group!
Hearts on Fire is a ministry for high school students who have a heart for missions, discipleship and ministry life. It is our desire as a ministry to help students and parents identify, encourage, and train a community of high school students who are committed to reaching Hispanic/Latino and other ethnic populations for Christ.
Enrique Garcia serves as our missionary leader for Hearts on Fire and has a heart for helping youth see how God can provide a guiding light, a powerful source of worship, and a direction for life as they seek to deepen their faith. With years of ministry experience and a deep relationship with God always on his own mind, Enrique desires to reach the Hispanic and Latino community with the youth who join Hearts on Fire.
This truly is a wonderful program for any high school aged student who wants to deepen their understanding of who they are in Christ so that their works reflect their faith while they serve others in the Tucson community.
We are looking for high school students who:
- Have a deep desire to know God in a more meaningful way.
- Have a heart for missions and reaching people for Christ.
- Have a heart for ministry life
- Have a heart for becoming a leader and a mature disciple of Christ
Missions Training Camp Hearts on Fire
The inspiration for the Hearts on Fire team came from our short-term summer missions program. In 2013, a small group of high school students had the vision to develop a ministry that would inspire missions among the youth in the Church beyond the summer months. Hearts on Fire is a ministry for high school students interested in a career in missions and/or ministry. The Hearts on Fire team gathers monthly for training and service projects and in the summer, they attend a week-long missionary training camp.
At camp, Hearts on Fire students attend Cross-Cultural Training, missions and missionary training, and are exposed to ministry life. Corazón missionaries and team members share their testimonies, teach from the Word, and share their experiences of life and ministry. The students also have the opportunity to serve the local community as a part of their training. In the past, the Hearts on Fire team has served the community in a variety of ways:
- Feeding the homeless
- Ministering to children
- Ministering to the elderly
- Construction and landscaping projects
If you or your student feels they are ready to join Hearts on Fire, you can click on our registration form to get the process started! The registration form will ask for only a few details to ensure the ministry can learn more about your child before we get them involved completely. Enrique, or someone from the ministry team may reach out to speak with you and your child.
