Corazón Ministries is a nondenominational missions project which began in 1991.

The purpose of Corazón Ministries is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ within the context of culture and community in Tucson's Hispanic and other ethnic populations.

Corazón Ministries was born in the home of Mike and Claire Alameda as they strived to reach their large traditional Mexican-American family with the message of salvation. It was during this season that the Lord revealed to the Alamedas that traditional methods of evangelical outreach could not overcome cross-cultural barriers in reaching their community.

What began as a series of family cluster home Bible studies has been permitted by God to grow into a ministry dedicated to the following goals:
To evangelize the Hispanic and other ethnic communities in a culturally sensitive manner.

Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Timothy 2:3-6

To equip the body of believers for work and service in the Hispanic and other ethnic communities.

Ephesians 4:11-13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Generally, the majority of Tucson's Hispanic Community is geographically located in the west and south sides of the city. Within these neighborhoods and barrios there resides a varied and diverse population. Effective outreach is accomplished through moving into a community and sharing scripture in the context of culture. Evangelistic Bible studies are taught to family cluster groups in the comfort of their home environments. Bible study often leads to personal discipleship and biblical guidance. Although couples participate in Bible studies, men and women study separately. All study participants are strongly encouraged to join a local church fellowship.

Corazón Ministries desires to complement the evangelistic outreach of the established churches in the area. Pastors gather throughout the year to bring together the church leaders in the spirit of partnership to develop outreach strategies.

For those who are interested in working in a Hispanic or ethnic ministry, Corazón Ministries offers a cross-cultural training program. Currently, Corazón is coordinating evangelism teams within churches to impact their neighborhoods.

During the year, Corazón Ministries participates in special cultural events around the Tucson area, such as the Cinco de Mayo Festival at Kennedy Park. At these gatherings Corazón Ministries is able to interact with individuals and expose them to the Word of God. Opportunities are given to sign-up for Bible study and develop a relationship with Corazón and the local church body.
