The theme of the 2025 Women of Heart Retreat: Before the Throne was prayer. Before our guests’ arrival, I watched table leaders move prayerfully through the room with hands on each seat, seeking God for the woman who would sit there for the day. I observed our volunteers, who prayed over every detail to prepare a beautiful, safe, and sacred space for our 150 guests. As women entered the auditorium in the AZ History Museum, I prayed it would become a worshipful sanctuary where the Holy Spirit moved and each friend experienced the love of Jesus.
God often carves the message we share into our hearts before we speak it. God required me and the retreat leadership team to pray before I stepped up to the podium and uttered words of welcome on March 15th. We prayed for our speaker, Crickett Keeth, to arrive in Tucson after numerous flight cancellations and travel delays. We prayed for the power of her words as she prepared to proclaim the gospel. We prayed Crickett would make it in time to be with a loved one in hospice care following the Retreat. Praise God, she did.
God always answers our prayers, revealing His heart to us. The day began with smiles, happy chatter, warm coffee, good breakfast treats, gifts, and giveaways. Worship filled the air, and thankfully, our speaker made it to Tucson. Crickett delivered a powerful message about prayer as a vehicle for a relationship with God. She taught from the life of David and how he prayed in times of trouble and lament. We learned from Hannah’s life how God heard her prayer of longing and assured us that God would also hear our longing. After her final teaching, Crickett walked us through the Tabernacle into the Holy of Holies. She invited each woman to go Before the Throne of grace with confidence in Christ, regardless of the condition of her heart or history. As the women penned their responses in their gifted prayer journals, I asked the Lord’s favor over each of us.
God continually moves, drawing us into His presence. Six women shared that they received Christ’s salvation for the first time at the Retreat. Over forty reported recommitting their lives to follow Jesus. More than 30 women requested to join Bible study and want to learn more about how to live out our faith daily. Thank you in advance for praying for these new believers and for ways to connect through Corazon’s Women of Heart ministry.
