Twenty-five men and women gathered at Maranatha Ministries on February 11 for a Corazón Ministries Cross-cultural Marriage workshop. Single, engaged, and married couples learned how to have a healthy marriage based on Biblical principles. The interactive style, sharing, and conversation encouraged reflection and laughter. One man in a cross-cultural marriage made an appointment with Mike for the following week. The man told Mike that after the marriage workshop, he recognized he was not the man God called him to be. Mike shared that God’s design for marriage was only possible through a relationship with Jesus. After Mike shared the hope of the Gospel, the man bowed his head and prayed to receive Christ as the Lord of his life and marriage.
The pastor who opened his church to host the workshop stayed for the day. He has invited Mike and I to come and present the cross-cultural marriage workshop in Spanish to his congregation. Another single woman who attended is also arranging a later time for us to share our Leadership Training with her bilingual church, fellowship group. After our recent trips to churches in Los Angles and Dallas, our plans to return for cross-cultural marriage workshops, training, and ministry to couples are underway.

Mike and I shared a joy-filled time with our friends and ministry partners on a recent trip to Dallas, Texas. We traveled to celebrate the grand opening of The Blessing Church plant. We participated in a spirit-led, Friday night worship and prayer meeting to ask God's favor on the church's mission, "to be a blessing to their community in the name of Jesus". Mike and I made new friends and reunited with others we had not seen before the pandemic.
Pastor Yoon first visited Tucson in 2005 when he led a youth group to Tucson for a short-term summer mission week with Corazón. Since then, we have enjoyed a meaningful mentoring relationship with him and his wife, Becky. This friendship led to long-standing ministry ties with their home church, Tapestry LA.
We also reconnected with Latino Christian leaders who equip the Spanish-speaking community with evangelism training. We attended a portion of the dynamic Apoderados Conferencia De Evangelismo. We met with the Director of CASA, a ministry for underserved Hispanic and other minority children. Finally, I was able to have lunch with a beautiful author friend.
Tickets for our return to Dallas are already secured. The Blessing Church has invited us back April 19 – 24 to lead a marriage-focused workshop week. We look forward to all God will do and the warm and welcoming Texas hospitality.
